Easy Fish Tacos

Berkeley and I love a good fish taco! And these really hit the spot. I have always been a little nervous to try my own hand at making them but I decided to jump in.

We grabbed some Pacific Whiting/Hake from the grocery store (it's cheap and sustainable!), marinated it, cooked it up, and added it to corn tortillas. We dressed ours with broccoli slaw, a cream sauce, and tomatillo salsa. They were great tacos. These are now in the rotation for a quick week night meal!

Easy Fish Tacos
  • 1 lb white fish
  • 1/4 c olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt and pepper
  • corn tortillas
  • garnishes
  1. Mix oil, lime juice, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and cumin. Pour over fish and marinate 20-30 minutes.
  2. Add oil to cover the bottom of a large pan and heat to medium. Gently place fish into hot pan flesh side down. Cooking times depend on your fish type but usually only takes 4-6 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes and then flake.
  3. Heat tortillas and then build your tacos with dressings and garnishes.
