Following My Blog

Yesterday, Google announced that coming in July 2013, they will be retiring Google Reader. I am quite bummed! I love my Reader. I love the bookmarklets for individual folders to be easily directed to different blogs. I love the ability to star, save, reread and scroll through all the blogs I love reading. I loved the ease of it all.

I have found that Bloglovin' has similar functions but I never quite liked them as much as I liked Reader. I will be using Reader up until they stop running. That being said, over the next 4 months, I will be slowly trying to learn Bloglovin' and keep track of as many of my favorite blogs as possible. I know a lot of my favorite blogs are not on Bloglovin' so I'll be stuck with RSS for a lot of them.

That being said, I wanted to let you all know that there are plenty of other options to follow this blog (and hopefully the can apply to other blogs as well). First, you can follow via Bloglovin'. You can be taken directly to the page by clicking that heart button on my left sidebar (and below) as well as that link. I will continue using the Facebook page and my Twitter account to post links to my posts. Also, this most recent talk of retiring features does not discuss GFC. So as far as I know, if you are a Blogger user, you can still use GFC to follow this blog (and any others enabling GFC) on the blogger homepage and "Reading List". Lastly, you can subscribe for email updates and RSS updates.

I want to end this post by saying this is not a ploy for me to get you to follow me everywhere on the internet. I just want to share options with you all. If you love Reader as much as I do, you might be a little stunned and not sure how what options are available. I just want to make sure where to find this blog (and others) other than on Reader.
