And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'One of my biggest goals this year was to start wading our way through the traditions we celebrate with each of our families independently and starting to come up with our own traditions. It is a trial period to see what works for us and what we can make our own.
In the middle of this we wanted to make sure we kept focus on the most important part of this season. I made an advent calendar for the two of us. I added a mixture of treats, gifts, and activities. I want to get in the habit of reading the story of Christ's birth so that was added in there. As a reminder for us and as a learning tool for our children. This year we have been successful three times without even doing the one from the Advent Calendar.
Are there any Christmas Traditions you take part in during this time of year?
