Homemade Pizza!

We finally did it! We made our own pizza. It was wonderfully delicious and really simple. Granted, most of the ease came with pre-made pizza dough. We used a rosemary foccacia dough from Fresh N' Easy. We hope to make our own dough some time in the (hopefully near) future.

For this time around we had a simple pepperoni and cheese pizza. To make good pizza, you need to start with a really hot oven. For us, we cranked it all the way up to about 525.

To form the pizza, we started by gently spreading out the dough. Olive oil was then rubbed into the dough and dimples were made. The edges were folded over to make a solid crust. More olive oil was brushed onto the folded over edges.

Next, tomato sauce was spread out over the top of the dough. Be sure to leave enough of uncovered dough around the edge for a nice crust. We added grated organic mozzarella cheese. Then came the pepperoni. Both the cheese and pepperoni we got from New Frontiers. Great Quality.

Last minute, I sauted some onions and garlic to add on top. We popped it in the oven and less than 15 minutes later, we were enjoying it!

Hopefully, we can get some other ideas going and make some awesome flavor combinations. Mmm BBQ Chicken Pizza, Pesto and Tomato, and Sausage and sweet peppers are just a few of my desires for our pizza making ventures.
