Homemade Honey Mustard

Sometimes, I find pre-prepared honey mustard too thick and too sweet to enjoy. Or the mixture can be overwhelmingly tangy. Making your own is a great remedy to that problem. Thankfully, homemade honey mustard sauce is really easy to make.

While thick and tangy honey mustard has it's place in the marinade section of my world, I prefer a thinner version for cooking. It is as simple as mixing equal parts yellow deli mustard and honey together. This mixture can be easily altered depending on personal preference.

I also like creamy Honey Mustard for salads, sandwiches and/or dipping. The following is my favorite recipe for creamy Honey Mustard.

Creamy Honey Mustard Sauce
Add the following ingredients to a bowl. Whisk and then chill until ready to use.
  • 1 part honey
  • 1 part mustard
  • 1 part mayonnaise
  • salt, pepper, chili powder to taste.
  • dash rice wine vinegar

can you taste the mustard-y taste in yours? I'm a huge honey mustard fan, but I don't really like regular mustard so I find that some pre-made versions are too... bitter or mustard-y for me.

I'll have to try yours, maybe add a little bit more honey than mustard?

thanks for the easy recipe! :)

Mine tasted like a well balanced honey mustard. I just used plain deli mustard which I hate. You could try using more honey if you want it sweeter. Try a few drops of each just to taste before you go for large scale.
