Carmelized Brussel Sprouts and Strawberries

While Berkeley is on assignments, I get to play with food. I get experiment with different ingredients. This is the result of one of those experiments. 


Caramelized Brussel Sprouts and Strawberries
Ingredients
  • 12-14 large brussel sprouts
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 5-7 large strawberries
Directions
  1. Thinly slice brussel sprouts and dice garlic cloves.
  2. Heat the olive oil over medium high in a large skillet and saute the garlic for 30 seconds. 
  3. Add brussel sprouts, salt and pepper. Saute for 4-5 minutes, until bright green and tender. 
  4. Remove from heat and toss in brown sugar.
  5. Dice your strawberries add to the cooled pan. Toss everything together and then serve.
